Interior objects and tableware made of tinted, semi-reflective and smoked glass, which sometimes have minimalistic, graphic patterns etched in, are entering living and office spaces.

Their forms are futuristic and sleek, and go well beyond retro. An understated contemporary “smoked” lamp is Oda by German brand Pulpo.

The wonderfully crafted glass is produced in the Czech Republic, a region known for glass blowing and precision optics.

Sebastian Herkner’s aim was to create a repository or a balloon full of light. The design is inspired by the amazing pictures of water towers shot by German photographers Bernd and Hilla Becher. A hand-blown, tinted glass barrel balances on a simple and elegant metal structure.
